Sumner A. Bourne is an attorney and Subchapter V trustee in downstate Illinois, accepting trustee appointments in the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois. In addition to trustee appointments, he primarily represents consumer and business debtors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases.
Mr. Bourne is a frequent author and lecturer on bankruptcy issues, and has made presentations for the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA), the office of the Illinois Attorney General, and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees (NABT) among other organizations. He is a past chair of the Illinois State Bar Association section on Bankruptcy practice.
He received his B.S. (1990) from the University of Illinois and his J.D. (1994), magna cum laude, from the Boston University School of Law.
