About me
Matthew Brash is Senior Managing Director and lead professional of Newpoint’s TRAIL (Trustee, Receivership, Assignee, Interim Management, Liquidation) platform. Matthew works on behalf of companies, national and global commercial lenders, law firms, private equity firms, and key stakeholders in various turnaround stages. He meets each project with the goal of maximizing recovery and finding closure, efficiently and successfully.
With over a decade of experience, he is well-known and a go-to source in situations which require immediate deployment, strong management, communication, and performance. He thrives on finding value where one believes there is little to none. Matthew believes that being assertive allows for clear expectations and productive, professional partnerships. Matthew is a mediator, federal and state receiver, Subchapter V Trustee, operator, and assignee.
Matthew is Co-Chair of the Bankruptcy Court Liaison Committee for the Northern District of Illinois and has participated as a panelist for the Turnaround Management Association, Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors, Chicago Bar Association and National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees.
A graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Matthew got his start in turnaround as the interim Chief Operating Officer & Controller of the Arena Football League during the League’s 2009 restructuring (and eventual bankruptcy).
