About me
Carleen Cignetto is currently an associate attorney with Johnson Legal Group, LLC in Chicago and Trustee Assistant to Cindy M. Johnson, Chapter 7 Panel Trustee for the Northern District of Illinois.
She started her career as an associate attorney for Grochocinski & Grochocinski, a small collection law firm in suburban Chicago. During the 10 years that she spent with the firm she was trustee assistant, before they were called trustee assistants, to David Grochocinski, a Chapter 7 panel Trustee for the Northern District of Illinois and gained experience representing creditors, debtors and trustees in Bankruptcy Court. She also represented debtors and creditors in various aspects of collection litigation in Illinois state courts.
She left the practice of law to work at Motorola, Inc for 10 years, spending 3 years as collection manager for Motorola Employees Credit Union and 7 years in various supply chain roles negotiating major contracts for the repair services division of the infrastructure part of the cellular business as well as collection manager for the satellite phone services division.
Before joining Johnson Legal Group, LLC in 2019 she spent 12 years in private practice in southern Will and Kankakee Counties in, Illinois representing debtors, creditors and trustees in bankruptcy, real estate, small claims, eviction and foreclosure litigation.
She is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University and The DePaul University College of Law and is admitted to the Illinois Bar, the District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the District Court for the Central District of Illinois. She is married to her husband Mark for 38 years, has two children Robert and HollyAnn, and is the proud Nonnie to Mia and Madison.
Carleen is also mother to her rescue dog Eddie (named for Eddie Van Halen), loves to travel go to concerts or just sit and pet Eddie.
